About Madison

Until recently, I was held back by the belief that art was only a hobby, not a career.  After finally deciding to pursue art through the studio classes that I participated in, I recognized that I craved art that carried a positive tone and left people with a peaceful mindset.  I noticed that while creating art, I found rest through letting go of emotions, thoughts, and challenging life situations.  This lead to my decision to create art that would reflect joy, relief, and hope; however, those attributes are not necessarily obvious, but rather subtle and recognizable when one sits with each piece.  I know that I have achieved this goal when I am left with the same emotions.  I am drawn to mixed media work dealing with paper, ink, and words.  In most of my work there is an element of simplicity, such as few colors or details, for the purpose that it may provide more rest for the eyes and mind.  It is my goal for whoever views my work to receive a sense of all the thought and care that goes into each piece.
